Alex called home from Salt Lake City Airport!!

Talked to Alex today!!

I could hardly wait to wake up today!! I kept checking my phone to see if it was time ha ha. I knew that Alex would be calling me anywhere from 5am to 9am.  I was so very very excited!! He called alright. Everyone but Zachary who had left for school already got to talk to him, including my daycare babies who were more than thrilled to hear his voice! Of course, I stole him the most and couldn't have been happier to hear him tell us all about the MTC and his experiences. He mostly just kept wanting to know how everything was at home and church and Hazen and the day care kids. I wanted to hear all about him ha ha. So we kind of went back and forth.  One story that made me laugh several times today I just have to relate it here so I won't forget. I will put it on his blog too. He just cracks me up!

There was a Devotional with Craig C. Christensen,  and Alex was late getting a seat with his companion. So they notice that right up at the front real close to where Elder Christensen was sitting that there were two empty seats.  So they thought they had scored big time and hurried up there to sit.  Well Alex was thrilled when Elder Christensen walked in because he was sitting so close, but part way through the Devotional they announced the Choir would now sing. All of a sudden the Choir Director is standing in front of Alex motioning for him to Stand and Sing. He about falls to the floor dying! He is NOT in the Choir, everyone KNOWS he not in the Choir and he doesn't havea  clue what they are singing. so he pretends to lip sync. It gets worse.  Not only once, but THREE times his face is nice and big on the Jumbo Tran since there were about 4000 missionaries in attendance!! He about died. Literally :) He said it was definitely his Most embarrassing moment!

He also said that 35 missionaries were flying out to his Mission today. Wow! That is a lot! I found out today as well that his mission opened up new areas today for accommodation of the new ones. I know that he was going to get there at 9am, get picked up and driven to the Mission Home where he was going to be until 4pm when he was going to go to a Chapel there and they were all going to have a big meeting and get their Assignments.

I can't hardly wait to know where he is! It is so strange that I won't know for about a week ;/ But I really feel calm and peaceful which is VERY unlike me, not knowing where my child is... But I am calm.. Now if some disaster strikes in his area.... Lets not go there :)

2nd Week Provo, Utah

Hello!

This week has been very interesting! I am not sure i will have tome to upload pictures to anyone because i only have 26 mins left before i break mission rules. It has been interesting. I have loved the learning that has gone on this week. I leave for California tommorrow morning at around 5 am (from the MTC). This week at the devotionals we got to hear Craig C Christensen for the presidency of the seventy and also from Elder Allen who is the head of the missionary department in the church as well as an area seventy. I have had some great learning experiences this week it has been awesome! has been very strong here and i have been enjoying that. Especially as we have taught. We have had some spiritual experiences teaching and also some lessons learned. Also enjoying learning more about obedience. Thanks for the letters!! got to answer some more emails now! God bless!

P.S last week our group broke the record and was the largest group of missionaries to ever be in any MTC in the world at any point in time (betweeen 3200 and 3700), making up the largest MTC mission ever. and this is usually there slowest time. Also, we are only the 2nd week of 2 week missionaries ever and the first few months of 18 year old missionaries for the church. And the church just annonced the creation of 58 new missions around the world. good news!! The spirit is so strong. The lord is hastening the work. god bless

Mom
Yes i have he is awesome  We met up the second day when i was feeling kind of down we see each other almost everyday now he almost helped me give a blessing last night and we both sat pretty close to the devotional speaker last night. He is awesome, definitely a gift from god that we see each other so much. Because it is very odd to see a person more than once in the midst of between 2500 and 3700 missionaries on different schedules and going to different countries speaking different languages. Things are going good though I can call you tommorow at probably around 7 is or 8 ish my time but no later than 815 my time cause my flight leaves at 8:31. I will probably talk for about 4 minutes.
Give you hope everything is going great just trying to lock my heart in and don't have time for pics. tell Jordan and Brianna i said Hi!

1st p day Provo, Utah

Hello everyone!
So it has been a pretty good week here at the MTC! A week of miracles for sure. I have learned alot. I got to go to the Temple this morning and had a good time. The mountains here are awesome. I have a pretty cool MTC district. Half of my district are going to the Utah SLC-West mission and half to the California Carlsbad mission. They are all awesome. My companion is Elder Jaques from New York, the country part. He hunts coyotes for $30 a head during the evening hours for a taxidermis and know some kind of jitsu wrestling. He is awesome and very patient. Ohhh good stuff. It has been good learning how teach better. We are the second week of 2 week missionaries. Well only have a few minutes left so got to go!

And he is off

I had to blog these from my phone so they are really out of order. I apologize, but wanted to make sure we still shared them with everyone.
This was at 5am at the Little Rock, Arkansas airport saying Goodbye to our Sweet Son and brother Alex.
He flew to Atlanta Georgia and then on to Salt Lake City, Utah where his Sisters Chantelle (who drove from Nampa, Idaho) and Emily (who drove from Rexburg, Idaho) were there to greet him.
And the moment he has waited for since he was about 2 years old and had any comprehension he could go!
Whoops. An out of order picture.. I warned you about this :) Back to the Salt Lake City Airport Pictures! And I do need to add that Chantelle did bring Ethan with her and Emily brought her husband Aaron, oh and Snuggles (the dog)
On the way to the MTC
The whole crew at the airport
The final goodbye at the MTC, notice the snow.
This was back at the Little Rock Airport. This strapping young man will be 16 years old when Alex comes back.
